Kiln Schedule Improvement

Summary: In this popular course, participants will become proficient in kiln schedule design and will learn how to modify schedules to improve quality, yield, and speed. Under individual supervision by leading consultants, participants will improve their own kiln schedules through hands-on activities. Employees with these skills will be capable of optimizing kiln schedule performance at their own facilities.

Kiln Problem Solving

September 28 - 29, 2016 in Clearfield, PA USA
*New course for operators with experience

Summary: In this new course, experienced industry consultants will break down complex problems that arise in kiln drying including: greying maple, damaging thick oak, and losing temperature control during conditioning. Solutions will be provided using the science of wood and water, and internal wood temperature. Employees with these skills will be capable of solving complex kiln problems at their own facilities.

Defect Identification and Mitigation:

Summary: In this course, participants will learn a systematic approach for classifying and resolving wood products defects. Under individual supervision by leading consultants, participants will analyze defects from their own facility in hands-on activities. Employees with these skills will be capable of identifying, assessing, and mitigating defects in their own operations.
